EGGENT FOR MAC

Your agent, on your own Mac.

The Eggent you know from the cloud, running on your computer. Your projects are plain files in a folder you can open in Finder. Connect your Eggent Cloud workspace and the Mac and the cloud become one agent: the same files, chats and memory on both.

Not signed yet. Use it at your own risk.

This is an early build. Apple has not signed or notarized it — that takes a paid developer certificate we don't have yet — so macOS will stop it the first time you open it and ask you to allow it by hand.

Inside is the same Eggent server that runs Eggent Cloud, wrapped in a Mac app. Open it only if you trust us to have built it. Keep a copy of anything you can't lose, and check that the file you got matches the checksum on the right before you open it.

And the agent runs commands in a terminal as your user, with no box around it like the cloud's. Ask it for things you'd be comfortable with it doing.

FIRST LAUNCH

Open it once, the long way.

01

Install

Open the .dmg and drag Eggent into Applications.

02

Try to open it

Open Eggent. macOS says it can't check the app for malware. Click Done (OK on older macOS).

03

Allow it

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and click Open Anyway next to Eggent. Enter your password or use Touch ID.

04

Open it

Open Eggent again and click Open. Pick a folder — ~/Eggent by default. macOS asks only this once.

Terminal — if you would rather skip the clicks
$ xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Eggent.app
# removes the "downloaded from the internet" flag; then open it as usual

On macOS 13 and 14 you can also Control-click Eggent, choose Open, and confirm. If macOS says the app is "damaged", it is not: run the command above and try again.

WHAT IT DOES

The same agent, on your machine.

Files you can see

Everything the agent makes is a normal file in ~/Eggent/Projects. Open it in Finder, Numbers, Xcode — whatever you already use.

One agent with your cloud

Sign in to your Eggent Cloud workspace and files, chats and the agent's memory are the same on both. Start a chat in the browser, carry on in the app. Schedules and Telegram stay in the cloud, so they keep running while your Mac sleeps.

Your own subscriptionexperimental

Run a project on Claude Code or Codex, if you already have one installed and signed in. You choose per project, and the app asks before the first run.

GOOD TO KNOW

What it can't do yet.

  • Apple silicon only (M1 or newer) and macOS 13 or later. No Intel Macs and no Windows yet.
  • About 1.2 GB on disk once installed.
  • No automatic updates. Come back to this page for a new build.
  • It needs a model: your Eggent Cloud workspace, a provider key of your own, or a program from the card above.
  • The terminal panel needs Python 3, which comes with Apple's command line tools.
  • To remove it, drag Eggent to the Trash. Your ~/Eggent folder stays where it is.
OR SKIP THE INSTALL

Rather not run an unsigned app?

Eggent Cloud runs in the browser, with a model included. Nothing to install and nothing to allow.
